I know in my soul when more women are empowered, our world will be better—kinder, more loving, and more peace-filled.
What I have found in my work is most women, myself included, have been brought up and entrained to serve others. We put everyone else’s needs and desires before our own. Marriage, raising children, careers, care-giving, volunteering in the community are some of our roles. There is no time for you! We keep giving and giving which leaves us feeling tired, worn-out and completely exhausted.
In my work with women in a safe, trusting environment I have found most women admittedly don’t put themselves first or ask for what they want. They feel they will be criticized if they ask for what they want. When we don’t ask for what you want, how can we ever get it? We can’t! Not from our spouses, family members, friends, co-workers, bosses, neighbors, etc. We then may become resentful. We think they ought to know what we want. They don’t know or may not care because they have become accustomed to our serving their needs and wants and not voicing ours!
This is our time to break through old conditioning which no longer serves us. I empower and support women to reclaim their whole authentic self –to rediscover themselves.
